Dreams in The Dark

In the second best book ever written about filmaking - "In the Blink of an Eye" (Walter Murch) - the author describes the reason why films, in all of its condensed, or out of sense time and space, and make belive reality is the undisputable major art form of the 20th century or is at least as impacting as it is:

Simply beacause it let us daydream in the dark.

All sucessfull films, independent of year release, style, genre or subject, reaches its main objective: to create a whole new world of storytelling, and provide an outcome, the so called catharsis, on someone who is hopefully sharing the magical experience with strangers in a dark room, anywhere, anytime, in the world.

When the silver screen starts to glow you are thrown into a fantasy world of at least 2 hours that can make you laugh, cry, condem or think possibilities never before imaginable simple because they make sense in these no sense that is our lives.

Movies are magic. Movies are imagined life in just 2 hours.

Lets talk about them.

Best, worst. But preferebly the best.

I do not condem by genre or subject. Nor should you.

The year is 2008.

The film history is just a little more than 100 years old. A lot is still to happen.
